Skyler Hepler
Skyler Hepler grew up in Cottage Grove, Wisconsin just outside of Madison, and joined the ELS in eighth grade when a friend invited him to attend confirmation class at Abiding Shepherd Lutheran Church. From there he became more involved with church through the youth group and later as a counselor at Camp Rise. Skyler graduated high school in 2016 before attending UW-Madison to pursue a degree in engineering. During his first semester of college, Skyler began feeling called to the ministry. He dropped out after one semester before eventually transferring to Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, Minnesota in the fall of 2018. At Bethany, Skyler met his wife, Erin, who he married shortly after graduation in May 2021. He then began his pastoral training at Bethany Lutheran Theological Seminary that fall. After completing his classroom studies in May of 2024, Skyler was assigned to serve as vicar here at Resurrection for his final year of training where he gets to learn and experience the daily life of being a pastor.
Skyler and Erin are excited to be in Florida for the next year and for the opportunity to help serve God’s people at Resurrection and in surrounding community! In their free time, Skyler and Erin enjoy spending time outdoors running, birding, herping, and playing ultimate frisbee. They cannot wait to get to meet you!
